Adoptive Momhood – Chapter 7: Change

Had a good first day at my new job. Made some stressed people really jello-ee and better able to tackle their wedding, divorce, and birth of baby this week. (No kidding, that’s what I get to do. Isn’t it cool!)

Came home and discovered a ‘feisty sista’.

Despite our best and worst efforts to calm and help Samantha, she wouldn’t let either of us in. She went to bed early–without her iPod. Partly her choice, partly ours.

Change is ultra hard for Samantha. My getting a new job isn’t the favorite choice of any of us. One of these days she’ll be able to handle change better; one day we’ll all be able to handle it better, but right now I’m left searching for wisdom.

And I found this and it made me smile:
